BOLD items are included in EFB. Other foods can be obtained from local partner agencies, family SNAP benefits or family food budget.
Use the bags of pinto beans, red kidney beans, and navy beans throughout the month to make soups, stews, chili and/or use to make bean burritos, bean tostadas, etc. You will need to use some foods that you already have in your home, you can get with SNAP benefits or you can get from your local partner agencies.
Meal #1:
1 can salmon, rice, one can corn, another vegetable of your choice, (mix these together or serve separately), strawberries (from frozen bag)
Meal #2:
Use any or all of the beans mentioned above to make stew; add pieces of meat from the cooked pork chops, collard greens, and any other vegetables your family enjoys. Use the dehydrated potato flakes to make mashed potatoes or add a can of sliced potatoes to the stew . Serve with fresh or canned fruit from your local partner agency or that you bought.
Meal #3:
Cook the spaghetti; add the spaghetti sauce and add canned tomato sauce if you want. Serve with salad and/or canned vegetables you have in the house. Serve with frozen strawberries, fresh or canned fruit and, if you want, bread.
Meal #4:
Fish fillets, one box of macaroni and cheese, any of the cooked beans mentioned above , one or two fresh / frozen/canned vegetables you have in the house and some fresh or canned fruits.
You will be able to make additional meals using the dried beans mentioned above. Choose dishes your family enjoys, use spices familiar to your family, and when possible add fresh, frozen or canned meats or fish to each meal using from your local agency (food pantry), your SNAP benefits, or using money from your family budget .
You should also get a 5 lb bag of flour that can be used to make bread, muffins, cookies, etc.

Choose dishes your family likes, use spices they’re familiar with, and when possible, add fresh, frozen, or canned meats or fish to each meal from a pantry, your SNAP benefits, or by using money from your household budget.
