Soaring inflation and supply chain disruptions are impacting Arizonans every single day.
With 1 in 6 people in Arizona experiencing food insecurity, the need for support is as great as ever. Many of our friends and neighbors are faced with making difficult choices, whether they put gas in the car to get to work or buy groceries. This is why Walmart and Sam’s Club are supporting the Feeding America® nationwide network of food banks, including United Food Bank through their 9th annual Fight Hunger. Spark Change. Campaign.
The campaign runs in store and online from April 18-May 15. There are three easy ways to support neighbors in need.
- Purchase participating items in store or online
- Donate at check-out in stores or clubs
- Donate at Feeding America’s Fight Hunger. Spark Change. campaign donation site www.FeedingAmerica.org/Walmart
“Hunger knows no boundaries and affects all of our communities. For the ninth year, Walmart and Sam’s Club invites our customers, members and suppliers to join us in the fight against hunger and help neighbors in need by participating in the Fight Hunger. Spark Change. campaign,” said Kathleen McLaughlin, executive vice president and chief sustainability officer at Walmart and president of the Walmart Foundation. “Together, we can help communities live better by expanding access to healthy, nutritious food.”
Fighting hunger means more than just providing a meal. It’s about showing up in communities to support our neighbors in a way that makes a difference. Help spark change today when you support the United Food Bank and the Fight Hunger. Spark Change. campaign.
United Food Bank has provided hunger relief to people in the East Valley and eastern Arizona since 1983. As a Feeding America member food bank, we collect, acquire, store, and distribute food to over 150 partner agencies in five counties. Last year, United Food Bank distributed more than 22.7 million pounds of food, 52,000 meals per day. We depend on thousands of volunteer hours annually to accomplish this work.
