The Friday before Thanksgiving turned out to be a record-breaking day at United Food Bank.
At our Friday Food Distribution on Nov. 20, 2020, we served over 2,700 families, including 11,500 individuals with 88 pounds of food, including turkeys, produce, stuffing and much more.
One client wrote us to say:
“I waited for hours in line this morning at Mesa Convention Center. It was my first time. I was nervous as I don’t ever want to take from those that are in more need than myself. I was hoping for a loaf of bread and some fruit, maybe some of that government cheese I have heard about, not knowing until I got home that you all not only gave me Thanksgiving Dinner for my family, but enough food to feed them all week. I am crying tears of thanks. That’s all….I only wanted to say Thank You.”
Thank you to all the volunteers, donors, the Arizona National Guard, the City of Mesa, our staff and everyone who made it possible!
