For more than 35 years, the United Food Bank has helped individuals and families in need of food assistance. The agency began operations in 1983 gathering and distributing food to local organizations that assist food-insecure communities as a joint venture between East Valley cities and their respective United Ways.
Tyson Nansel, director of external affairs at the food bank, said the organization has seen increased numbers of individuals, families and seniors seeking assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic.
