Phoenix, Arizona (April 26, 2018) – Arizona Brainfood and United Food Bank are uniting to provide thousands of students that receive breakfast and lunches from the school programs with enough food and essentials to supplement meals during the proposed teacher walkout this Thursday, April 26, 2018 to the conclusion of the strike.

“We are very concerned that thousands of Arizona kids will go hungry while the schools are closed,” stated Ruth Collins, Arizona Brainfood Founder & President. “We’re excited to partner with United Food Bank in increasing our backpack meal program in the valley during this period and ensuring the children receive the meals that they would have had at the schools.”

All 115 schools that Arizona Brainfood supports will be closed during the teacher walkout. That’s nearly 3,600 students they serve every weekend.

“Our efforts along with Arizona Brainfood will ensure that students get the nutritious meals they need during the strike, but we will need assistances from the Arizona community during this critical time.” Dave Richins CEO United Food Bank said.
