Thanks to the Association of Arizona Food Banks for sharing this story that truly shows how important SNAP benefits are in helping keeping families fed and nourished. Unfortunately, the story didn't mention the family accessing food pantries or food banks in the area to supplement their nutrition. This is why it's so important for everyone in the community to be informed about services and agencies available to assist families during emergencies. #TogetherWeCanEndHunger in #Arizona
Every volunteer we have is important in making a difference in the lives of hungry people. Jess Kurti is a special volunteer because she plans to volunteer at every Feeding America partner food bank across the country to learn more about hunger and how to end it. She's visited about 50 food banks so far and today we were lucky to have Jess assist in our Help Yourself program. Thank you to Jess and to all our volunteers.
A huge thank you to Dutch Bros. Coffee!!!! Their "Dutch Luv" campaign from Valentine's Day ended up raising enough money to create 125,548 meals for hungry people in the East Valley and eastern Arizona. #DutchBros #DutchLuv #GiveWhereYouLive
Check out this piece from the Phoenix New Times that mentions Tempe Empty Bowls happening today and tomorrow from 11 am – 2 pm. Come join us if you have a chance and support the Food Bank and our partners @Tempe Community Action Agency.
Tomorrow and Saturday, we all have the chance to help Tempe Community Action Agency and United Food Bank by participating in Tempe Empty Bowls. This is a free event where attendees can purchase hand-crafted ceramic bowls for $10 and receive a simple bowl of soup and bread from Whole Foods Market, reminding us of what many people around the world eat for the entire day.
Friday, Feb. 20th: 6th Street Park Tempe – 11 am – 2 pm
Saturday, Feb 21st: Tempe Library Complex – 11 am – 2 pm
Don't forget-tomorrow Dutch Bros. Coffee is supporting United Food Bank with Dutch Luv Day! $1 of every coffee sold will go to support United Food Bank and our programs. Share the "luv" and share this post!
Dutch Bros. Coffee is showing us the "luv" this week as they prepare for Dutch Luv Day, this Saturday the 14th. Every day this week, we've had teams from Dutch Bros. volunteering with us and they have sorted through enough food to provide 25,363 meals for hungry people in our community.
This Saturday, Dutch Bros. will be supporting United Food Bank by donating $1 of each coffee sold. Visit your nearby Dutch Bros. and help them reach their goal of $20,000!
Check out this great article about the recent donation we received from Ikes Love and Sandwiches. Their generosity will allow us to provide over 15,000 meals to hungry people in our community. #whyifeed
In the name of Mesa sandwich shop Ike’s Love & Sandwiches, you notice the word “love” comes before “sandwiches.” That’s because the gourmet sandwich destination is just as dedicated to giving back to the community as it is to dishing out quality grub.
This Saturday, February 14th, Dutch Bro's Coffee is donating $1 from every drink sold to United Food Bank! Help spread the word … share this link with all of your friends … and share some "Dutch Luv" with someone you love! #whyIfeed

We are so thankful to have partners like Ikes Love and Sandwiches and Ike's Place!. Our holiday food drive at their Mesa and Tempe locations fell short of its goal of 15,000 meals, so Ike's made up the difference with a huge donation to reach and exceed the goal. Now almost 16,000 meals will be distributed. Thanks to everyone at Ike's for their support of United Food Bank.
At United Food Bank, we always encourage the acceptance of everyone and strongly oppose discrimination of any kind. In fact, all agencies we work with must abide by our Nondiscrimination Disclosure Statement. That is why United Food Bank is proud to be a signing member of the City of Mesa's One Mesa Pledge. You can sign the pledge here! #OneMesa Pledge #NextMesa
If you have seen fliers in your neighborhood from the Boy Scouts of America Grand Canyon Council about Scouting for Food, please support the food drive as troops collect food this Saturday. It's the largest one-day food drive across the country for the Scouts and makes a huge impact to local food banks.
Check out a couple pictures from the Association of Arizona Food Banks' Saturday bean bagging event at the LDS Mesa Cannery. The giant bags/pallets of beans were individually bagged into 1-pound bags totaling almost 10,000 pounds for the day. Here are our very own Rayna Palmer, Chief Operations Officer and Jeff Bender, Agency Relations Coordinator at the event. Thanks to all the UFB Volunteers who showed up. The beans will be distributed to all Arizona food banks by the association.
We are very fortunate to be present at Lutheran Social Services of Southwest's Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon to recognize their work. It's through the work of agencies and volunteers like them that we can accomplish our mission of feeding hungry people.
Our partners at Tempe Community Action Agency and their volunteers were recognized at the Tempe MLK Diversity Awards. We really couldn't accomplish our work without partner agencies and their volunteers. Thank you to all of TCAA's volunteers for all your work.
Our Backpack Program provides backpacks full of food to children in need every week. The packs are delivered to schools across eastern Maricopa and eastern AZ, then discreetly distributed to children in need. #hunger#poverty
Such an interesting tool – Think food stamps are something used only by people in far-away, poor communities? Think again. A handy interactive tool from Slate.com will show you just how many folks right in your own community rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), otherwise known as food stamps.
