UFB Invites You to An Evening with the Stars

United Food Bank’s annual fall fundraising event is coming up on Nov. 16th and we invite you to join us as we give thanks to the many, who are helping us fight hunger in Arizona. Be a part of An Evening with the Stars, presented by Fry’s Food Stores, and enjoy a night of dinner, drinks and dancing, inspired by the glamour and fun of Hollywood!

During the evening, UFB will commemorate its 30th anniversary and honor retiring President & CEO Robert F. Evans, Jr. We will also recognize our 2013 Volunteers of the Year and our 2013 Spirit of Philanthropy Recipient, Hickman’s Family Farms.

The event will be held at the Phoenix Marriott Mesa (200 N. Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ 85210) and will begin at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person or $500 for a table of 10. We’re encouraging everyone to dress in their best Hollywood cocktail attire for our red carpet!

To RSVP and purchase tickets, please call (480) 926-4897 x210 or email

This event is generously sponsored by Fry’s Food Stores, Emerson Network Power, US Airways, Phoenix Marriott Mesa, APS, Mesa Public Schools and SRP. We want to thank all of these wonderful organizations for making this event possible!

Feed Arizona Families this Thanksgiving
Turkey Drive logoWhat is the best part about Thanksgiving dinner? Is it the turkey that turned out perfectly after slaving over it all day? Or those fluffy mashed potatoes that are gone in minutes? Maybe it is the slice of delicious pumpkin pie everyone has waited for all year. Most would probably agree it is friends and family coming together around the table that is the best part. Imagine not being able to experience any of that. Not having a turkey to worry about. No potatoes to scoop onto on your plate. No pumpkin pie to sneak bites of. No dinner to bring everyone together for. Sadly this is a reality for many Arizona families.

Currently in Arizona, one in five does not know where their next meal is coming from and one in four children is at risk of going to bed hungry. This Thanksgiving, United Food Bank is working to make sure Arizona families have a dinner to put on the table. We need the help of our supporters though!

We’re asking for cash donations, frozen turkeys and nonperishable side items to help feed the hungry this holiday season. Donations may be delivered to United Food Bank (358 East Javelina Ave, Mesa, AZ 85210) on Saturday, Nov. 23rd from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. or Monday, Nov. 25th through Wednesday, the 27th from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

 Most needed items:

  • Cash donations (Just $5 can feed more than 20 people!)
  • Frozen turkeys
  • Canned vegetables
  • Instant potatoes
  • Boxed stuffing
  • Canned or packaged dry gravy

From everyone at United Food Bank, thank you for your support in helping Arizona families this holiday season and Happy Thanksgiving! Please call (480) 926-4897 for any questions.

Thank You Emerson!
United Food Bank would like to recognize one of our An Evening with the Stars sponsors for their tremendous generosity. With their Name in Lightssponsorship, Emerson Network Power is not only assisting us with providing a wonderful event, but helping us feed many Arizonans in need. UFB could not provide the food for over 18 million meals in a year without the support of organizations like Emerson. Thank you Emerson for aiding us in our mission to end hunger in Arizona!
