United Food Bank Kicks-Off 6th Annual Summer of a Million Meals
On Memorial Day, United Food Bank kicked-off their annual Summer of a Million Meals campaign in partnership with Channel 12 News, Fry’s, Meineke and other sponsors. The goal is simple: raise money to help provide over one million meals to kids and families in need this summer. For every $1 donated, United Food Bank can help provide 5 meals to Arizonans.
Summer of a Million Meals is geared towards helping the 1 in 7 Arizona children experiencing food insecurity. Since most schools are out for the summer, many families must provide breakfasts and lunches at home. With higher grocery prices and inflation impacting other essential items, this summer will be particularly challenging for families to provide these extra meals to their children. If you are looking for free meals for your kids this summer, visit https://www.azhealthzone.org/foodsites/ to find meal distribution sites near you.
