United Food Bank Partnering with Local Businesses to Start Kids’ Club

Arizona – July 28, 2011- The United Food Bank has created a clever way to engage and teach school-aged children about philanthropy and community service with the introduction of their Kids‟ Lunch Bunch Club.

Donating one jar of peanut butter and one jar of jelly at any of the participating “Peanut Butter and Jelly Drive” locations listed below enrolls your child in the Kids‟ Lunch Bunch Club. New members of the Club will receive a certificate and a token of appreciation from the participating business.

“This is a kids helping kids program,” said Bob Evans, United Food Bank President and CEO. “Every night one out of four kids in Arizona goes to bed hungry.” This program will raise children‟s awareness of hunger in Arizona and in a fun way engage them to be part of the solution. The enrollment „fee‟ has a significance that children will understand. One jar of peanut butter and one jar of jelly is enough to make 10 sandwiches.

Below is a list of “Peanut Butter and Jelly Food Drive” participating businesses, food drive dates, and tokens of their appreciation:
